40 years ago I developed a brain tumor (pinealoma) which was inoperable at the time. A ventricular shunt and 5 weeks of radiation treatments was the standard treatment. I started using cannabis to help with the nausea and found that it reduced my seizures better than the dilantin the doc prescribed. 40 years later I no longer have seizures, have not taken dilantin in 39 years but I use cannabis almost daily. It gives me a brief sense of well being and comfort in an often chaotic world. That it may protect my health too is something I have always suspected. What force, what reason is behind the continued fear mongering that keeps cannabis illegal even in light of the truth? Are we so completely brainwashed by the "reefer madness" propaganda that even the truth cannot bridge the lies and mis-information 70 years hence? Reasonable people seek reason and logic in the laws that govern them. "Without reason, compassion and a sense of moral right and wrong, your laws are worth less than the paper they're printed on." Words to ponder for future lawmakers. And also, remind them that cannabis users are a very large and active voters group now days. Your laws have not served to shut us up and you are hearing now just how loud our common voice can be. Reform your ignorant cannabis laws, we don't believe you anymore.

My mother at 78 and very healthy was diagnosed with Glioblastoma multiforma just a week before Senator Kennedy. She is largely asymptomatic and has just started both radiology and chemo. (Her cancer is inoperable.) She has some of the best doctors available in the SF Bay Area and yet no one has mentioned the work of Dr. Manual Guzman (Complutense University, Madrid, Spain).

Dr. Guzman has confirmed that "Cannabinoids appeared to stifle VEGF production by increasing the activity of a substance that controls cell death, called ceramide".

There is a very real and immediate need to get this information in to the hands of everyone involved with cancer patient care.

Dr. Guzman has been publishing his results since 2004.

While the Kennedy Clan has suffered more than their fair share of tragedy, if this headline gets their attention and gets them to look at this research, then it is well worth any offense that might have resulted from a headline.

Hi. I'm a doctor, and probably your taking all this out of context. For the record I love weed, but is sad you use a serious illnes like Sen. Kennedys and exploit it for this cause. To put things back in context, is too late for Sen. Kennedy to use med. cannabis to cure his cancer. Brain cancer and all cancers are classified in stages, and when the doctor detects it, almost all the time it is in an advance stage. So probably the only way Sen. Kennedy could prevent it, is if he smokes weed before the cancer get big enough to present symptons and be clinical detectable. Now is too late, although he can use med. cannabis to alleviate symptoms of chemio and radioterapy.

My Father had a brain tumor while my mother passed away from breast cancer. My fathers father died of testicular cancer. I smoke marijuana everyday and just hope I don't get stricken with this horrible disease.
Last time I got arrested for pot possession (about 1/2 pound) I endured a putid city jail in Texas that was worse than anything I have seen in Mexico. My minor son was handcuffed and arrested.(later realeased) Pot was not in view. Yet cops sent Child services and with cops outside my house insisted on drug testing me, my 16 year old son and my wife. Only I smoke pot in this family I'm safe to say. Still my rights and that of my families were raped. Thanks Drug Warriors!!!
