Dear Dr. Grinspoon:

I am going to make this short and to the point. I have worked w/ people who have suffered w/ mental illness their whole life. I don't understand why pot is legal for those who suffer w/ diseases that are life threatening or diseases to make life easier. What would the drug companies do if those w/ menatl illness could smoke a joint in the morning and then in the afternoon. I have seen it work when it does those people get crazy and say it's going to interfere w/ their psych meds. which would kill a horse and do so much damage to their liver. The damage that the meds do that are prescribed my pyschiatrists that see them for 10 minutes a month. I know I am writing fast, the letters are small and I don't have my glasses on. I would like to have someone notify me that I am making sense. The drug companies that feed our mentally ill will go bust if we make pot legal.

Another year, another celebration of the life &
work of Dr. Lester Grinspoon coming up June 24!

Last year we in Louisville were lucky enough to
have interview with Dr. Grinspoon on public radio
station WFPL. This year we are hoping for an
interview update.

In the meantime everything is coming together thanks
to Dr. Lester Grinspoon, NORML and all of you!

Happy Birthday, Dr. Grinspoon from all of us at Willie Nelson Peace Research Institute. Thank you for your tireless effort to bring the truth of marijuana to a wider audience.

As residents of Maui, we are licensed by the State of Hawaii to possess and cultivate Medical Marijuana because of severe pain incurred from an automobile accident. So it would be very easy for us on Maui to celebrate Dr. Grinspoon's birthday properly.

But because we are on the mainland near Louisville, we are unable to acquire any medicine even though we possess a license issued by the State of Hawaii. For 2 weeks we have had to deal with a higher level of pain and reduced productivity.

We thank Dr. Grinspoon for his efforts to gain professional recognition of what many of us already know from personal experience.

We hope more states see the wisdom in allowing Medical Marijuana patients to acquire their doctor prescribed medication safely without fear of legal persecution and home invasions.

Peace, Love and Aloha

Liz

Just a little dose of truth can go a long way.
Even after all these years physicians around the world
are basically split into two groups: 1) those who are
aware of Dr. Grinspoon's contributions to our understanding of medicinal cannabis and 2) those
who are simply clueless.

Those in the former group understand & appreciate Dr. Grinspoon's courageous
& consistent speaking out. Those in the latter, probably not so much. Nonetheless, over time, as
people become more aware of their basic human rights
and what is available to them, we will prevail.

Our success will undoubtedly be due in no small part to the wisdom & guidance of Dr. Lester Grinspoon, M.D.-- we salute you!

Happy Birthday Dr. Grinspoon!
As a Crohn's disease patient, I have found your work to be both intriguing and invaluable. Thank you for all you have done and continue to do to educate the public about cannabis.
When I take my medicine later, and am able to eat a nice meal, I will think of you on your birthday and wish you many, many more!
