Is Your Mayor in the Marijuana Majority?

  • by Erik Altieri, NORML Communications Director May 22, 2013

Join NORML and our friends at the Marijuana Majority in our efforts to build support for marijuana law reform at the local level by contacting your mayor and urging their support for rational marijuana policies.

Mayors are on the front lines of the war on cannabis and can see the devastation it is causing at the local level. It is time our local politicans take a stand and say enough is enough, it is time to stop wasting precious law enforcement resources, stop allowing the revenue from marijuana sales to flow into the hands of criminal elements, and stop enforcing a prohibition on a plant that is safer than tobacco and alcohol. Please take a moment of your time today to click the link below and encourage your mayor to join the majority of Americans who want to see marijuana legalized.

We are at a pivotal moment.

Support for legalization is the highest it’s ever been and it’s still growing.
Now, Washington and Colorado have taken the first step toward ending prohibition for good.

But the feds still have reefer madness and are threatening to stand in the way of these states.
Thankfully, mayors across our nation are taking action.

They see the harm of these laws first-hand, and they are calling for change.

Is your mayor one of them?

Our Mayor, while trying her best to be the good conservative shill, has her head just as firmly planted in her rear, concerning cannabis reform, as her liberal predecessor. For the last 18 years we have had no option for reform locally. Statewide there have been several referendums and thousands of discussions and the outcome of each is fingers in ears, eyes closed and all elected members in attendance singing, “LALALALALALA, I cant hear you.”

I dont have alot of time left on this planet and it sure would be nice not to have to leave my home of generations just to sit in my living room and relax legally.

I will NOT buy from a dealer-thug-punk off the street so have lost every source I know over the years. Anyone who offers me a reform option will get my vote. I am sick of the lesser of two evils syndrome of stupidity we have currently.

    2. The mayor from San Diego is on board! Check out these sites – nhjury.com and fija (fully informed jury association).

Jury nullification will help end prohibition!!!

    4. quote, washingtond DC.marijuana is the drug most often linked to crime in the united states, the US DRUG CZAR SAID THURSDAY,dismissing calls for legalization as a “bumper-stickerapproach” that should be avoided.that is sad.

My Mayor is too busy being a drunk to even bother reading anything I send him. Hes been pulled over 2 times in his political life for SUSPECTED drunk driving and been allowed to continue driving home without arrest. I have heard of people arrested, tazed, shot, killed just for talking back to some cops.

Off to follow the links in the article and see if it does any good. Been fun commenting here today.

Keep up the full court press NORML, love yah man.
