Holy Hemp! Pat Roberston Supports Ending Cannabis Prohibition In An Effort To Get ‘Smart On Crime’

  • by Allen St. Pierre, Former NORML Executive Director December 22, 2010

Break out the recorders! Don’t let this one get away!

If I didn’t watch it with my own eyes I might not believed it possible: Televangelist and former Baptist minister Pat Robertson making a cogent argument on alternatives to arresting and incarcerating citizens who use drugs, with a clear emphasis on legalizing the possession of a few ounces of cannabis.

The 700 Club segment on alternatives to crime helps promote a new right-of-center organization that seeks to actively lobby for reform of the criminal justice system principally as a poor use of scant public funds called Right on Crime. Notable conservative activists such as Americans for Tax Reform’s Grover Norquist, American Conservative Union’s David Keane and Prison Fellowship Ministries’ Pat Nolan are spearheading this important new front in the now 40-year-old effort to reform cannabis laws.

Also, with unbelievable karmic timing, Pat Robertson endorses ending Cannabis Prohibition for possession of a few ounces at the 4:20 mark of the video.

Virginia, there is a Santa Claus.

This is good news, and an effort to bring a different demographic to the RIPS vs DIMS paradigm. Ron Paul and Judge Napolitano are having an affective development on the body politic.

It also shows you the DIMS are impotent in picking ‘low hung’ fruit. WarBama is such a massive disappointment.

Gov. Gary Johnson deserves our full support in 2012 !

Slowly but surely the tides are turning.Law enforcement and prison industry will squeeze and milk every drop of these pathetically labeled criminal funds/policies.

Until finally the majority of the public force this onto their representatives.

Not all people slapped with possession drug records(multiple or not) are bad folks, but the hurdles and stigmatization to move forward in life is unbelievable.

Even though I never thought I would see eye to eye with Mr.Robinson , I’m glad he had the courage , to come out with this. One does not need foresight anymore to see the negatives everywhere of these polices turning our citizens into 3rd class citizens.

This was the first thing I saw on the internet this morning, and all I can say is that Mercury must have come out of retrograde. This is mind-blowing and a great holiday gift from the Christians!

BTW, check this out. A court in Montana was unable to seat a panel of jurors who would convict under the state’s marijuana laws.
